Energy Efficiency Programs

  • Compressed air systems present one of the largest and most frequent opportunity for operational and energy reduction.
  • More than 50% of the energy in a compressed air system is wasted due to improper or misapplied use.

Energy Efficiency programs have been an important part of John Henry Foster’s initiative to help customers reduce energy and increase system efficiency.  Our objective is to provide customers with assistance in maximizing their system performance, lowering operational costs and increasing system reliability.  We provide audits of the compressed air, vacuum and fluid cooling systems.  Experienced compressed air system specialists analyze the complete compressed air and vacuum system starting at point of use applications working back to the supply side of the system, utilizing high speed data loggers recorded in real time. Monitoring capabilities include parameters such as pressure, flow, kilowatts, amperage, dew point and air leak identification, depending upon customer requirements.Information collected during the monitoring period is analyzed and included along with a comprehensive report which includes the following information:

  • System operational costs,
  • System analysis,
  • Areas of opportunity for energy savings,
  • ROI analysis on corrective actions,
  • Supporting data,
  • Action plan for implementing improvements, and
  • Anticipated utility rebate, if applicable.

Upon completion of the Energy Efficiency Program analysis, ongoing support and information is made available to the client. If a power utility rebate is applicable, we will supply all data needed to meet rebate program requirements and facilitate the process.

Compressed Air Challenge
Founded in 1997, the Compressed Air Challenge (CAC), Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation, formed by a collaborative group of sponsors from utilities, energy service companies, national and local government energy agencies, compressed air equipment manufacturers, distributors, and service providers.  There is additional representation on important committees from end users, independent compressed air auditors and consultants, and professional associations.  The CAC is organized exclusively for educational purposes to foster, encourage, and improve the efficient generation and use of compressed air.   www.compressedairchallenge.org
