Training Seminars

Training RoomAt John Henry Foster, customer service is at the core of our business.  Our passion for excellence motivates us to offer educational training seminars in the compressed air profession.  As with many industries today, the compressed air industry is constantly changing with new innovations in equipment, controls and application.  The constant change along with a lack of standardization of products and specifications creates difficulty for customers to make informed decisions.  John Henry Foster is aware of the lack of access to information that is critical to the design and operation of an energy efficient compressed air system.Located in our Eagan headquarters, we have a 1,100-square-foot training facility to regularly hold technical training seminars.  John Henry Foster’s trainers bring extensive experience offering cutting edge information, as well as operational, maintenance and troubleshooting of compressed air systems, pneumatic systems and related equipment.  JHF also offers occasional on-site training at client facilities.

Service & Maintenance
To support our teaching of compressed air systems, we demonstrate with ten working cut-away displays that simulates air compressor operations.  This allows for an interactive educational experience with visual understanding of the equipment’s features and functions.  We discuss how to:

  • Achieve peak compressor efficiency through proper installation and maintenance practices.
  • Test and monitor a compressor’s functions and safety features.
  • Offer tips for predictive maintenance.
  • Set and adjust operational controls.
  • Operation and adjustment of Power-Sync™ computerized control system.
  • Properly select lubricants and interpret oil analysis reports.

Pneumatics
As a direct result of meeting the demand for pneumatic products, we offer training to enhance the value and efficiency of pneumatic use in customer facilities.  It is designed to give engineers and production staff a basic understanding of symbology, terminology and application with all types of pneumatic components.  In the training, we:

  • Investigate and explain the features and benefits of several models and brands of valves.
  • Review ANSI symbology of 2, 3 and 4-way valves; 2 and 3 position valves, and the application of each.
  • Explore the various methods of valve actuation and operation, with an explanation of the pros and cons of each.
  • Examine the multiple means of controlling cylinder speed as applied to system applications.
  • Illustrate the issue of lubrication and proper filtration with future manufacturing trends in mind.

In addition, we offer product educational presentations and demonstrations specific to client needs in innovation and technology, e.g., Fieldbus, electronics, etc.
